Cornhill Farm is a 250ac family run farm in West Cornwall. Father and son Len and Pete Olds are the 3rd and 4th generations of the Olds family to farm at Cornhill. The farm has three main enterprises, free range laying hens, arable and contracting. All of the crops grown on the farm are milled on site with their own Mill n Mix to a bespoke hen ration recipe designed by the Olds family over the years to optimise hen health and as a result a super tasty egg! Manure from the hens is worked back into the arable fields in a traditional cyclical pattern. In addition, trees and herbal lays, together with the use of mobile hen houses which are moved to fresh pasture for each new flock to encourage the hens to forage further on the ranges.

The Olds family are keen to try new ideas and most recently have planted living barns made our of Holm Oaks in conjunction with the Forest 4 Cornwall programme to give the hens better natural shelter. As all eggs are produced, graded, packed and delivered from Cornhill, you can guarantee you will be getting the freshest of eggs that won't have been sat for a week in a warehouse somewhere! The farm also hosts many school visits and is a keen advocate for Open Farm Sunday, which is always held in the last Sunday of June where everyone is welcome to come and meet the hens and explore the farm.

As at January 2025, given the high risk of Avian Influence, the hens are currently shut up in the hen houses to prevent this virus spreading to the flocks, but they will be back out ranging as soon as the risk reduces.
