FFC’s mission is to ‘Improve access to fresh, local food to enhance individual and community health and wellbeing, and the environment’, achieved through a range of activities undertaken by the respective departments.
This is achieved through attention to three aspects of the food system:

Distribution and access to food, growing food, and cooking and eating food.
Through a range of actions connected to these FFC aims to:
- Help people feel healthier and happier
 - Help agroecological growers sell more produce and so reduce impacts on biodiversity and the climate
 - Make people more aware of the consequences of their food choices for the environment.

This is our impact.

We will achieve this by
- Improving individual and community resilience through transferring practical skills for growing and cooking food
 - Encouraging and enabling more people to buy locally grown food that is fresh and nutritious and has a small environmental footprint
 - Building a community around food - helping to improve health and wellbeing, reducing the impacts of food poverty and incapacity, and strengthening community spirit.
