Loveland's Market Garden
Producing food with and for the community has been at the heart of Loveland since we began in November 2021. Our market garden was created with this vision in mind. Spread across a one acre corner of the field, the market garden grows an incredible array of delicious, fresh produce all year round.
The market garden is a place for people to connect with the land, learn practical skills, and experience agroecological growing in action. Created through a process of permaculture design, we work in harmony with nature — caring for soil, biodiversity and the wider landscape. We use minimal‑till methods, integrate agroforestry, and build soil health through crop rotation, companion planting and diverse green manures.
We chose 6 core aims to guide us in our action:
● To produce food, using agro-ecological principles.
● To contribute to fulfilling local food security
● To be resilient in the face of oncoming crises
● To provide education & training opportunities in growing food.
● To improve the wellbeing of visitors, volunteers and staff.
● To sequester carbon
In 2026, Loveland became officially certified organic with the Soil Association— a major milestone that reflects our commitment to stewarding the land responsibly and producing food with integrity. Everything grown here meets the highest standards of ecological farming.
The market garden grows food on a not‑for‑profit basis to support Loveland’s wider work. While coordinated by Finn and Rachel, the project remains true to the Loveland ethos: community‑led, hands‑on, and engaging with volunteers.
You can find our produce through the FFC Grocery and at the Loveland roadside stall, restocked throughout the summer. We also supply food for our own events, the FFC Kitchen, and a number of local businesses.
If you’d like us to supply your business, email Finn & Rachel at lovelandproduce@falmouthfood.coop.
If you’d like to get involved, join us for our weekly volunteer session every Wednesday from 10am–3pm. Everyone is welcome.
